Advice/comments gratefully accepted on filters for landscape photography....what you use and why.

Thinking of getting a polarizing filter and/or some ND grad filters but can't decide on screw in or cokin P series. I appreciate that with a screw in ND grad filter the transition area will always be in the middle of the frame but do people find the cokin square filters a bit of a faff and they take up too much room.

Also any other filters people would recommend for landscape and climbing photography

In reply to Andy Hudson:

Cokin-style has the big advantage you can use the same filters on lenses with different size filter threads - you just need a new adapter ring. I would go for P-size Cokin-style filters.

Some full-area ND filters are very useful as well if you are into long exposures.
