Ryan Pasquill flashing Slab and Crack (E8 6c) at Curbar, 4 kbThe near-perfect gritstone conditions on Saturday brought out some strong climbers with an impressive flash ascent, a first repeat after 21 years and two solos of a notorious E7.

Fantastic stuff.

Don't expect One Step Beyond to feel like E6 unless you've got a side runner in Avalanche Wall and a 2nd belayer as per the first ascent.

Fantastic effort from Ryan, I was walking around over the other side of the valley and noticed someone climbing owls arete but then started watching and was amazed when the same person started up slab and crack.
The impressive solos and repeat from the Roaches and Baldstones have now been added to the report with photos.

A bit of an error in there Alan, was Ray J. who lead it first, don't think Woodward ever managed it.
