A quick question, does a grigri 2 or in fact either gri gri, need a HMS as a belay krab? Or can you just use a regular screw gate with it, e.g. wild country ion?

you can probably use any screwgate but i think i would use a regular crab jsut for safety

In reply to jack1996: It just needs to be able to swivel. My HMS was too big i.e the diameter of it made it too tight a fit through the hole on the Gri Gri. Regular screwgate is fine.

It's possible for a large HMS to cross load and lock the cam open, if you do use a HMS keep an eye on it.
