Mark Diggins, co-ordinator of the Sportscotland Avalanche Information Service and an IFMGA qualified Mountain Guide, talks avalanches with Sarah Stirling. Mark has spent years studying and making reports about avalanches, and trains mountain guides in avalanche awareness. He's also been caught in and survived two, so he's seen avalanches from all angles. Here he offers his advice to walkers, climbers, skiers and mountaineers heading into the Scottish hills in winter.
