5th March may have seen the final round of the BMC Youth Climbing Series in England and Wales but up in Scotland our climbers were gathering for their first round. In 2010 our first round was almost cancelled by blizzard conditions but this year the 87 climbers who turned out at Inverness (Scotland North) and Stirling (Scotland South) were not only greeted with warmer weather but also sizzling competition.
