Climbing Centre Senior Instructor

Salary £17,500pa


You will contribute towards ensuring that the Climbing Centre within the Surrey Sports Park (SSP) operates to the highest possible levels of safety and guest service, by monitoring the use of equipment and activities. You will ensure the safety of all guests and staff at the centre, and the maintenance of equipment, through the adherence of strict health and safety procedures.

Your role will also be to support the Climbing Centre Manager, and take a leading role in delivering projects and identifying the training needs of the Climbing Centre Assistants and casual instructors. The role will also involve instructing individuals and groups on the use of climbing techniques and to demonstrate the safe use & maintenance of the climbing equipment.

You will promote the Climbing Centre facilities through a programme of sporting and recreational events, and you will assist in running climbing activities within the centre for guests, staff and students.

You will be MLTE SPA or CWA qualified and hold a current first aid at work or mountain first qualification. You will have a clear understanding of health and safety requirements in the leisure industry, as well the ability to provide excellent customer service. You will have previous management experience. It is expected that you will have a wide range of indoor & outdoor climbing experience and instructing at multiple locations.

Climbing Centre Assistant

Salary £15,000-£15,500 pa (depending on experience)
