I have developed a bit of a reputation for being a second day warrior. This usually means having a total nightmare on the first day of the climbing trip falling off warm up climbs, being timid above the bolt and atrocious route reading.
And then on the second day when everyone else is tired I pull it out of the bag, climb with confidence and onsight and redpoint to my highest level.
What is going on here?
The obvious answer is that I'm just getting used to outdoor rock which is part of it I’m sure but I believe it is mainly psychological, how can I turn this around?
