Mountain Adventures in the Maurienne, 4 kb"This rather all-encompassing title contains a wide mix of day walks, walking tours, scrambles, rock climbs, via ferrate, mountaineering routes and even mountain bike and cycling routes around the Haute Marienne valley in the French Alps" says Alf Alderson.

This inevitably means there's only space for a limited number of each of these, and my initial thoughts were exactly who is the book aimed at?

In reply to UKC Gear:
Thank you for such a positive review. You've hit the nail on the head I think.
It was always aimed at first timers and families with a holiday plan which includes a few mountain sports. For those with higher and harder ambitions the excellent Patrick Col guides (in French) will undoubtedly earn a place on your bookshelf. These are widely available in the valley and are mentioned in my guide book.
We'll be in the valley in the summer for a few weeks and hope to see some fellow Brits enjoying these beautiful mountains by whatever means take their fancy.
A bientot!
