Get the impression that Wild Country have stopped producing these, as I cant find them on sale anywhere. Having borrowed a couple last week I'd say they were superior to the BD equivalent; does anyone know where I might find some? I'd prefer to buy them new but would consider second-hand in good condition.

In reply to Jamie Bankhead: I think camp carvex are pretty much the same

Hmmmmm, could be a contender, certainly looks like a Rockcentric shape. But the stiffness of the wire is another big factor, the BD ones are noticably "floppier" than WC's.

I have a 3, 7, 8 and 9 in used but very good condition. Yours for £20 posted if you want them.

In reply to Stuart Wood:

Probably wouldnt use the 3 and 9 much, would you be interested in selling the 7 and 8?

In reply to Jamie Bankhead: The Camp Carvex are pretty stiff, i've got one.

Cotswold Outdoors have WC Rocks on wire, sizes 9 - 14. Might be worth looking at.

They have them in Nevis Sport, Leeds branch anyway.

Not any more apparently...

Those are Rocks, I'm after Rockcentrics.

In reply to Jamie Bankhead:

I get that you are after a set of these but what I don't get is why?

Surely something original hex's or even torque nuts would provide a lighter, better alternative?
 iksander 23 Jun 2011
In reply to mlmatt: I'd guess the conventional view is wired hexes are better in winter, you don't have to worry about damaging the slings when beating them, and if the wire's stiff enough you have a good chance of placing them one handed

In reply to mlmatt:

Ease of placement, ease of racking and durability. I've been horrified at how quickly the WC dyneema degrades.

There`s a set of Wild Country 3-7 for sale on E-bay now
