Does anyone know if you are required to have an AALA licence to take children climbing on a single pitch venue or indoor wall if there parents/guardians are present throughout the session.

Or do you know where I can find information on it?

In reply to scotlass: I know that you don't, although I can't give you a reference. Best to visit the AALS website.

In reply to scotlass: OP is correct. A license is not required to take under 18s rock climbing at a single pitch venue if their parents or legal guardians are present ( http://www.hse.gov.uk/aala/public-information.htm third bullet point). A license is not required to take them climbing on an artificial climbing wall as this (climbing on a purpose built artificial wall) is not one of the licensable activities ( http://www.hse.gov.uk/aala/climbing.htm see last line of paragraph).
