Hazel Findlay, 3 kbNEWSFLASH:

Bristol based climber Hazel Findlay has yesterday succeeded on the Dave Birkett E9 Once Upon a Time in the South West.
Hazel's ascent comes just days after the route received it's second ascent at the hands of Charlie Woodburn.

In this country, surely yes. Abroad, Beth Rodden's thin crack in Yosemite, whose name escapes me, would presumably be at least E9, and possibly there are others.

The Nose, you mean? Tough to grade in UK grades, but yes, you'd think at least E9 would be fair.

In reply to UKC News: Fantastic. Obviously the stuff she has been doing in Canada and the US was amazing, but for most of us not knowing the cliffs or quite how YDS grades work, it perhaps didn't full sink in - but this is just brilliant. Nice one Hazel!

Well done Hazel. I remember when she were nowt but a slip of a girl burning everybody off down the Warrington wall.

Looks like training really does improve your climbing after all......I remember when it was all fields you know.......
