I'm looking at going to Spain for the next few months with the intention of developing my basic Spanish and climbing as often as I can. I've been looking into workstays, where you work around a home or business in return for food and accomodation, can anyone reccommend any in particular? I know The Orange House do offer accommodation in return for 1.5hrs work, but they dont need anyone at the moment. Something similar at a climbing hotspot like the orange house would be ideal!

Any reccommendations as to where to work, what to avoid etc? any advice would be appreciated.

My advice...

Look at all areas in season and where you'd like to climb.

E-mail every climbing hostel in those areas and see what comes your way.

It'll be my first climbing trip to spain, so recommendations for an ideal area would be appreciated too. Literally anywhere in Spain. Ideally with relatively easy access without a car, with a good range of grades to get me fit (6a upwards)

In reply to kos_os: You could get in touch with Gary at the Olive Branch, El Chorro

Wish I had said yes to you now as the work programme at the moment is massive!

If you dont get anything else offered get back in touch.
