Is this the reason we haven't heard who Cav is racing for next season

He's fussy about what bike he rides. Tsch, what a prima donna

In reply to Chris the Tall: He cant keep it under wraps for much longer, he said that he had decided which team it would be weeks ago. Unless he's changed his mind again ?
In reply to Chris the Tall:

Nah I reckon he's going to Garmin.

I hear they are riding Apollo bikes next year...
In reply to JLS:
Maybe Pinarrello don't do small frames....
In reply to JLS:

Pro tour riders have been known to ride their favourite brand bikes but sprayed up by the official sponsors.

In reply to La Shamster:

Bit more difficult to do now that frames aren't all made from round tubes. I imagine a Venge painted up as a Dogma is still going to look like a Venge!

Two years ago Gilbert spent a year racing on an alu Canyon painted up to look like the carbon version - but the tube profiles were close enough to get away with it, all that gave it away was the cable stops being on the headtube not the downtube.

In reply to Chris the Tall:

If this does happen, my suspicion would be that Specialised are chucking in a load of money to allow OPQ to offer the same sort of cash to Cavendish - thus letting him earn his rewards whilst not having a team compromised by having to work for Wiggins at the same time (note that Wiggins is already trying to position himself for this by saying how hard Cav would find it next year with the Olympics and the Tour so close together...)

I really hope it comes off, actually - Cavendish has always seem to be much more European in outlook than Sky are. I don't think it's a natural fit.

Shame really. I just hope the cash is worth the nationalistic wank that comes with that outfit.

In reply to Chris the Tall:

Eisel has signed too.

In reply to shaggypops: Can't reveal names, sorry. But told you it was a fact
In reply to RhysB:
I've read that he made a verbal agreement with Sky a couple of months ago, but was holding out for more money now he is world champ. Must have been interesting negotiations, given the part Brailsford and the 6 sky riders played in his success !
bobbybin 11 Oct 2011
In reply to Chris the Tall: he's on 2.75 million, highest paid rider in the peloton. The boy done good.
 shaggypops 11 Oct 2011
In reply to bobbybin: No probs, the official announcement was timed to perfection

In reply to AlisonSmiles: there's no need to be, it was common knowledge in Denmark, just gotta know the right people.
 AlisonSmiles 11 Oct 2011
In reply to bobbybin: Yes, of course, the right people. Why didn't I think of that.
bobbybin 11 Oct 2011
In reply to AlisonSmiles: They're just mates who happen to be Elite riders, no big deal.
 AlisonSmiles 11 Oct 2011
In reply to bobbybin: Golly, fancy knowing some elite riders.
 Graham T 11 Oct 2011
In reply to AlisonSmiles: please tell him who you work for. He is making himself look like a collosal tit
bobbybin 11 Oct 2011
In reply to AlisonSmiles: Not all my mates are elites, some are just lowly 2nd cats but i still speak to them.
 AlisonSmiles 11 Oct 2011
In reply to Graham T: Very sorry, I am being quite badly behaved. In honesty horrified that someone would disclose someone's private earnings details, whether erroneous or not. After all, you never know who might read these things, or how your "source" would feel about how you have used the information they gave you.
 bouldery bits 11 Oct 2011
In reply to bobbybin:

I know a man who works at Halfords.
 Graham T 11 Oct 2011
In reply to AlisonSmiles: I agree with you entirely. I just thought it might shut him up
