In reply to Andy Mountains: Hell yes ...she rights a good blog too. I'm not much of runner but take a look every now and then.

I remember chatting to a woman at the LLAMFF and being all impressed at my sub 3hr time ...she then told me she was the commonwealth up hill champion "Sarah? Frost" from New Zealand... I picked up my pint and got my coat.

G'day Andy - glad you like the blog

You must have met Frosty! Anna Frost from NZ - she's an incredible athlete and just a lovely person and would kick my butt on an uphill run (and most of the guys too!). Reckon I might have a chance on this terrain tho!

Be great if more girls got out (and guys for that matter!) and had a crack at it! It's just a great little adventure at the end of the day.

Cheers, Sarah

PS - thanks everyone for the well wishes - I really worked hard reccying and training for this one so nice to see the training pay off. I intend to have another crack when conditions are next in to see if I can get under 1:40, so keep tuned to the blog.

Cool.
Ran this two weeks ago, 3 hours it took is, but we were a group of 5 and did plenty of stopping. Also started from down in the pass opposite the Grochan as the car parks were all full (by 8.20am! - see my Blog: http://www.heason.net/News_&_Blog/Blog/2011/10/03/Whats_Happening/).

Fantastic route. Is there an actual race? I guess it's too dangerous.

We used to do the Horseshoe Snowdon Bike race in the 70 & 80's carrying a bike between 3 for charities mainly Mountain Rescue, till it got stopped, Health & Safety, great route. Happy memories!

Well done, photo on Crib Goch with bike avaliable!

In reply to MattH: It would be too dangerous as a race, like the 3000ers, nice as a timed challenge, also its so weather dependant you could only ever hold the race in perfect conditions due to the danger, as you couldn't, well I wouldn't, as runners to head along the ridge in wind or rain, that call should be the runners on their own, without influence of a race.
In reply to UKC News: Bloody good effort Sarah! Just did Crib Goch as part of my run today and it took me at least an hour and half just to Yr Wyddfa summit!

You must have been flying along the ridge!
