Experience of the route? Conditions, gear etc?

After seeing the youtube video 'a neglected gem' I thought it looks like some tasty climbing.

In reply to Merlin: yeh its really good!, backed off from the top chimney on the solo last year as it was quite loose but a decent amount a neve would make it a bit more pleasant. Akward moves getting off the ledge from the second belay but the gear looks ok!, bottom pitch is nice and turfy, didnt look like there was alot of gear but it wasnt too tricky, ace route.

In reply to Merlin: This got quite a bit of attention early season last year after a couple of friends climbed it at the end of November: http://guysteven.blogspot.com/2010/11/hidden-gem.html . It looks a good mixed line but was originally graded for more ice I believe?

In reply to Merlin: Yup its quite good. Been summed up pretty well already.... tricky pitch up the corner, then an awkward start to P2 and then up the chimney which is well protected. In the region of V,5/6...

As above really, good route finding an unexpected line through the buttress. Ice helps but goes without and early season has less cornice issues on topping out. Nice varied climbing with reasonable but not 'above head the whole way' gear. Enjoy
