Probably just me in which case sorry but... Has anyone else had enough of the wane looking neo shell ad people staring out at them from the internet or mags? I wish polartec would cease / change the ads, I actually find them slightly disturbing, reminds me of concentration camp victims.

In reply to ksjs: Not disturbing but certainly very odd indeed.

In reply to ksjs:I think that's the point, that the joke is the neosheel has had a hard time and not the people.

I was puzzled by them and now don't notice them.

In reply to ksjs:

Absolutely, had enough. Can't imagine what went through their minds when they made them.

Yes, I to have had similar thoughts.

For us of that generation reminds me a bit of the anti heroin adds in the 80's

Neoshell, don't do it kids!

In reply to ksjs: Thanks all. Sounds like I'm not being overly sensitive. I understand the idea of the ad but on balance I wonder if it was the right thing commercially i.e. does it actually sell, seed the concept in people's heads.

For me I think the answer is no, I'll just remember those people rather than the product. If anything I'd also probably make a positive choice against neo shell in the future, pathetic as that might sound. I really don't like the ads.

In reply to cavemanjack: The woman on the sheep / man creature is definitely disturbing. Verging on some kind of deviant porn?

In reply to ksjs:

They do look like Amnesty International adverts or something similar. Wouldn't put me off buying a NeoShell jacket though, the price does that itself.

I have to change page or scroll down rapidly. I hope that the poor dead people they used for the photos gave their consent before they departed for another world. I'm all for not using pretty people on ads but this is a step too far...
In reply to ksjs: Well, the marketing has worked then - they might have lost you as a consumer, but you've posted on a forum where 491 people have read it.

Say 10% of them hadn't heard of it before and 20% of them might have googled it, so that's 49 more people who know what it is, ~10 in detail.

Those people might then chat to mates about it... and so on.

If 2 more people buy it at the loss of you, then it's worth it! (clearly that's simplistic, as you'd need a lot more than 1 jacket sale to pay for the advertising costs!) But you see what I'm getting at.

I actually refuse to use the Go-Compare web site for insurance due to their adverts - but I'm sure their tactic works just as well.
