Hi,

Recently brought a pair of beale cobra's 8.6 half ropes, anyone got any good suggestions on the best belay device, i have a bug which is ok for my 10 .5 singles i also have a wild country vc pro but the ropes just seem to get jammed in it and you have to physically pull the device away from the krab to get fluid movement,
not tried the bug with these ropes yet i was just concerned they might be to slick for it any advice will be greatly appreciated ta

I use a Reverso3 (and Petzl Attache 3D) with my Cobra's, not had any problems.

In reply to riff156: I had problems with the VC Pro too. In the end, I sold it and bought a reverso 3.

Exactly this. Reverso 3 feeds great with my Beal doubles.

See I used a reverso 3 on some mammut genesis 8.5mm ropes and found them it to be horrible. The device kept sticking when I pulled rope through to pay out. It just didn't feel nice.

Instead I've got an BD ATC guide, which is a little heavier but is a much better belay device.
