Best thing to clean holds? Got alot of indoor climbing wall holds to clean, pretty old, likely to have never been cleaned. Grimey.

In reply to esoteric: Dish washing has never really done that good a job when ive tried it. I find it easier to put them in a tray and jet wash them. The tray stops them flying away. Also if they are really dirty benky works well soak them in it for a while. Although less chemicals = less sore hands.
Hope this helps

Sugar soap. Very cheap. Either buy ready diluted or in powder form. Spray or soak holds then rinse/power wash.

Jet wash! It's a grim job but it's the best way to get them clean! Short term cost long term gain.

In reply to esoteric: Yeah if its mainly just compacted chalk build up and you have a lot of them then a chemical cleaner is a good idea, like benky or HRT Hold wash. If it's non chalk dirt, like form dirty shoes etc then probably jet wash it off. It's a lot lot harder and more time consuming but it does the trick

Jet wash or if they are really grim then nip down to Screwfix and pick up some patio cleaner. Dilute the patio cleaner down a bit and soak for a short while, remember to wear gloves as the stuff contains hydrochloric acid then jet wash them.

Job done and it costs about £5

In reply to esoteric: Vinegar is meant to be good a option as well, but you need a lot!
