The next BMC Peak Area meeting will take place on the 8th February 2012, at The Maynard Arms Hotel, Grindleford, everyone welcome. The Maynard is served well by bus and train.

Please see the agenda for the meeting at:

http://community.thebmc.co.uk/Event.aspx?id=716

We plan to start promptly at 7.30pm so please get there early to get your beer in. The bar in the meeting room will be staffed throughout the meeting for top ups.

The main body of the meeting will be taken up with a Q&A session with Jon Stewart from the National Trust and Danny Udall from the Eastern Moors Partnership.

Topics to be covered include:
· progress on the Eastern Moors Partnership (EMP)
· future proposals for joint working between the BMC and National Trust (NT) on Stanage North Lees
· the Sheffield Moors Partnership Proposal
· the Nature Improvement Area proposal covering the Dark Peak area from Longdendale to Eastern Moors.

This is an extremely important and unique opportunity for the BMC to be able to have this discourse and audience with representatives with the EMP and NT at a local Area Meeting and your participation and input would indeed be valued.

We really do appreciate the time taken by the representatives of both bodies in giving their time to take questions from both our members and interested parties.

After the rest of the normal business in the meeting and the usual Chips & Butties, BMC Guide photographer Supremo Mike Hutton will be giving a talk and slideshow on what’s involved to get that ultimate shot, “3-years in the Life of a Climbing Photographer”.

Hope to see you on the 8th Feb, again it's going to be a very important and informative evening, if the last few meets are anything to go by, we will need to order more butties - no bad thing!

Cheers

Simon

Yep will be there nice and early - do we need emergency sandwiches on standby do you think? The Xmas meet was unbelievable! ;0)

BTW - anyone who has any questions in advance of the Q&A session and want to put them on here for Moff or via email to take for the Peak Area Chairman then we are happy for you to do this.

cheers

Bump: it's amazing the amount of people who always say they never know when the meetings are when we put all the info on UKC, UKB and the BMC website!

In reply to Simon: I have got a box full of 'The Independent Hostel Guide 2011' to give out free (cover price £5.95). It is an excellent guide and an antidote to all those forum threads; 'does anyone know a good cheap hostel in....). It is a really nice pocket size book. Anyway if you want one its free!
I was given them at a Marsden to Edale Race Event which Mountain Rescue covered and if you want to make a small donation to MR it would be gratefully received, but they are free, no obligation.

In reply to redsulike:

Sounds good, thanks for that - I'm sure people will take you up on that & donate for a good cause.

See you at the meeting

Regards
