When in the higher areas of the Lake District for example 600m plus near fast flowing water sources, who uses any water treatment technique and if so what?

I am asking this considering that there are no added factors such as dead sheep etc.

Would love to hear people's choice and if yes what treatment they use.

Cheers,

i never use treatments but my brother always does. personal choice. if there's plenty of flowing water about i dont worry.

You don't need to do anything. Lakeland beck water is better than corporation pop!

This gets asked fairly regularly on here so if you do a search you'll find a lot of opinions.

When this crops up every few months, there are usually one or two people who say they got severe poisoning from drinking untreated water (though I think I'm right in saying that nobody has proved the water was the source). But the majority drink it with no problems at all.
