Hey there

Given price of commercial expeditions, we were thinking of going for it ourselves, maybe to Pakistan, doing something like spantik peak.

Does anyone have experience in organising such an expedition independently? And who to contact for logistics? Or is is better to get someone to organise logistics and go there and try things alpine style and carry everything beyond base camp?

Anyone know as well where we would get accurate maps of the area?

Cheers

Avi

I organised a trip near there last year to broad peak. Get in touch with lela peak expeditions they'll be able to sort you out. Overall for us it was less than 1/2 price a commercial trip. There's not a great deal of maps available. Google earth, crap local maps and a good pinch of mountain sense.

Hey many thanks. They did get in touch with me actually. Did they basically sort out getting you to base camp, then you were on your own?

No porters nothing?? No fixed ropes etc?
