I posted this on STW yesterday but thought it worth repeating here.
"Chariot Trailers have issued a recall in the US having identified the following issues with the hitch arm:
(i) The Chariot Hitch Arms cracking from fatigue (risking failure if a possible cracking is not spotted by the user). Only Hitch Arms manufactured between October, 2002 and September, 2011 are affected.
or
(ii) The VersaWing 2.0 breaking after the event of a roll over. Only Carriers manufactured between December 2005 to July 2010 are affected.
Please be advised that this is an extremely unlikely risk of product failure and we have not received any reports of injuries."
They're not recalling them in the EU due to different terminology (and legislation?) but are offering a free safety upgrade kit (aka a backup strap).
Full details here:
http://www.chariotcarriers.com/english/html/consumer_advisory.php
for the American site (which seems to explain it slightly better) and here:
http://www.chariot.eu/chariot/newsmeldungen/
for the EU site where you can request your free upgrade kit.
It doesn't seem to a huge issue but it's probably worth getting and fitting the safety strap
