In reply to Mick Ryan - UKC and UKH:

The GB Climbing Team have several nice shiny new sponsors which we will be unvailing in the next few weeks, all of which has helped us increase the teams budget by over 100%, which is fantastic news for the team!

Cheers

In reply to Team BMC: Will any of this money be used to assist in plane tickets to get some of the best competitors to Innsbruck in a couple of weeks or are they still staying at home because they can't afford it?
 Team BMC 03 May 2012
In reply to NJBrown: There will be a full quota of team members going to Innsbruck next weekend, and the team management will decide how best to fund them.

I think what most people don't realise is that the IFSC have changed their rules this year, and now we can only send a maximum of 4 climbers in each category to a world cup event. Its not us limiting the numbers we send to events, its the IFSC.

We plan to fill each quota for every single boulder world cup this year. Full start lists can be seen on the IFSC calendar on the website.

Cheers

It gets better.

Thanks Rob.

Great to see the team supported. So much talent and hard work done there, by the team members, coaches and managers.

Good on on the ABC. Seems like everyone is pulling together in the right direction.

In reply to Mick Ryan - UKC and UKH: All sponsorship is greatly appreciated for all the Teams, bouldering, junior and senior and it is great to see so many positive comments from climbers supporting the Teams and the efforts the BMC have gone to to raise some additional funds. Obviously we could always wish for more but this year is one of the best funded yet. Let's all get behind the climbers competing and hope we get some good results too.
Thanks Rob for your efforts on The Teams behalf.

In reply to Team BMC:
But in vienna the women's bouldering had 6 competitors from both france and austria....
In reply to Liam Brown: The Rules are:

Every country has a quota of 4. In addition to this you can also register anyone is is a reigning World or Continetal Champion, and anyone who is in the current top 10 based on the World Ranking (not the World Cup ranking as that resets to zero every year). And if you are the host country you get a bigger quota.

France had extra climbers as they had top 10 climbers.
Austria has extra climbers as they were the hosts plus Anna Stohr is World and Euro Champion.

Shauna is now top 10 so we get an extra climber hence we have 5 registered for the next comp (Innsbruck in 12 days time).
