Surely somebody could have been there with a brolly.

Will you have someone to carry your brolly when you go to Annapurna or will you be carrying all your own kit this time?

What a nice informative article from the Fear. Give the guy a break, Jeez, he's only been in 5 minutes.

For those who believe in omens he hasn't started well - soaked to the skin twice, after changing suits after the first dowsing, then on the way to meet Angela in Germany his plane was struck by lightning and he had to turn back to get a different one!

Wouldn't happen in a properly run monarchy.

How long are you giving him before he - and everyone else - realises just how far out of his depth he is? Still, I expect his corrupt prime minister might just steer him the right/wrong way. I bet Sarko was SO relieved to be out of it as he walked down the Palace steps to his car.

It's funny but I half wondered this myself as he didn't really do such a good campaign - could he know something we don't, that the economic problems are only just starting so he preferred to let the opposition win so he could step back in in 2017? It seems hard to believe given the level of his ambition but you never know!

It seems there's already problems brewing in the new majority, Martine Aubry seems really miffed at not being offered the job as PM.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall! I don't know anything about J-M Ayrault other than always seeing him on the tv, heckling and bullying at the Assemblée Nationale. I listened to Hollande giving his speech side by side with Merkel - god, he's a crap speaker - so stilted. I thought he was going to dry up several times.

At the moment I keep getting flashes as if this is like one of those "Satan returns to Earth" movies, in which a series of seemingly fortuitous events leads someone to power and Armageddon! Normally Hollande should never have been leader of the Socialist Party, but at the time the heavy weights couldn't decide who to choose so they compromised on a weak candidate they thought they could manage. Then until his sexual penchants came to light it was all set for Strauss Kahn to become candidate and almost certainly President... so now we have someone who even his own side never reckoned that much running the country... even his marital experiences, and the political rivalry with his ex seem more like a B series scenario than reality.

I wonder if he has the mark of Satan on his body anywhere?
