200 people ascending in that window is just nuts!

In reply to Milesy: It's not nuts, it's business.

Wishing a safe return and success on the 6th return to the summit, if the conditions justify, to guide David Hamilton.

Thinking of you, mate.

In reply to UKC News:

I've found it interesting, following many of the reports, that the ONE climber on the mountain who is probably of capable of climbing it all by himself, is the one climber who constantly mentions that he is not alone, that he has a Sherpa with him, Tensing, whom he regularly names, like a partner - not staff to thank in retrospect, whose names show up only in stats tables.

Seems Steck really is a great climber.

It's certainly not mountaineering!

In reply to Al Evans: A commercial, overcrowded, litter strewn and dangerous circus.

Do you know him? I don't. But something like this says something about him as a person, not just someone who is good at going up hills. Plenty of 'great' climbers have been arseholes as people. Right now the web is full of people proclaiming their conquests, conveniently omitting the names, or even presence, of the locals who carried all their stuff.

In reply to Damo: Seconded. No one can question his climbing ability, but he also comes over as a decent bloke as well which like you say can never be guaranteed with people who excel in a particular field.
