I never "got" Bowie, and sorry to report tonights Beeb 4 isn't coming up with much enlightenment (unlike other brilliant Beeb 4 themed music evenings) apart from maybe Life on Mars; I hope they do Laughing Gnome!

In reply to mountainmadness: Download a thing called Expat Sheild, this will make BBC think you are in England when you run it, you can use both BBC player and ITV Player for both live and stored programmes

Thanks for that David, good stuff, just watched it, got me to thinking how important rock music has been in my life, the way I lived it the way I enjoyed it, maybe second only to climbing after family and stuff.

In reply to David Hooper: I didn't realise how much I liked Bowie till I watched that. The only record I have is Hunky Dory (which I love), really should get more.

Can anyone name me one top twenty single in, say, the last 10 years as good as any bowie single?

In reply to Formerly Known as Pylon King:

I grew from a child to a man with music from Bowie as part of my soundtrack.. kids these days are so unlucky. He could do no wrong from TMWSTW to LD, then either he or I got old and more ordinary I guess.

Most songs are better than Let's Dance!
