Hello

I am already in Africa and only have my walking boots with me. We are planning a trip to Tanzania in September to go up Kilimanjaro. So I have a couple of questions about kit.
1) Can you hire kit from the trek companies?
2) What is the standard of the kit i.e. should I get some thermals sent from home?
3) If they don't hire, are there any places to buy kit from?

1) Some of them. Shop around on the internet. If the companies provide kit hire they will usually say on their site. There is a shop in Moshi I cant remember the name of where you can hire gear. Hire only though. Not for sale.
2) I cant vouch for the quality of the gear. I Imagine its mostly well used.
3) Not really. There is an outdoor type shop in Arusha but I wouldnt bank on them having what you need. Depending on where you are in Africa if you find a big Nakumat they will probably sell clothes/thermals. Or even just a marketplace.
