Hi, I am currently looking at doing a one day glacier travel and crevasse rescue course in chamonix ( I am out here at the moment and looking at doing this in the next couple of days). The price for the day is €350 and this can be split between up to 4 people so I am looking for someone to split the cost with.

In reply to gunilla: I'd try and find someone to show you for free. If I was out there, with a day spare, I would. Mer de Glace is a good place to do it, assuming you're safe climbing on long ladders (from Montenvers down to the glacier, that's the most dangerous part of the lot).

In reply to Blue: I remember a few years ago me and a pal went up to the le tour glacier to pratictice our crevasse rescue, the most import thing we learnt that day was that, it's probably best if neither of us ever fell into a crevasse

Yes, free is good, but €350 is good value between four, especially if you ever need to use those skills in anger
