Mrs Bouldery_bits and I are getting hitched and making it official.

We're struggling for a bang on first dance song.

We have varied and slightly leftfield musical tastes.

In reply to bouldery bits: Why do you have to have a first dance. They always seem a bit corny to me. We didn't have one and despite the fact that we met at a proper dance, it some how didn't seem appropriate.

Ha, we had 808 State, Cubik. Quite a night my reception!

In reply to bouldery bits:

If you can't think of one then you should consider not having one!

We had a wonderful wedding and a Ceilidh band. We didn't have a formal first dance but just got up with everyone else for the first dance of the night.

I'm afraid I subscribe to the view that a formulated First Dance is corny.

Here's a selection of frst dances we've played at weddings recently..

Twist and Shout
Feelin good (the muse version)
is this love (bob marley)
Hello sunshine (super furry animals) - includes the line 'you're a minger'
Stand by me (ben E King)
Caledonia (dougie Mclean)
lets stick together ( al green)
Everybody needs somebody - from the blues brothers
Time after Time ( cindi lauper)
The timewarp. (bride and groom wanted the whole wedding party up for this)
she will be loved (maroon 5)
can't take my eyes off of you.

People can have some interesting tastes. Sometimes they don't work.
In reply to bouldery bits:

Possibly not a first dance kind of track, thought i'd share the beauty none the less.

In reply to bouldery bits:

I was planning Who'd have thought? by Rancid for mine.

"And it hits me when I'm alone, I'm an angry man
I start singing to myself I got dealt a shitty hand
With all these feelings my heart could explode
So is it not fear, knowing it all

And I say
Who would've thought that the dreams come true?
And who would've thought I ended up with you?
And who would've thought what they said was true?
It was and you are, light in darkness come through"

I'm a big softie when it comes to Mrs 2pints...
