For a short walk.....

Is it picturesque?

What is the adjacent Gray Crag like? Worth it for a short walk?

Cheers,

In reply to An Triubhas: It's a nice spot but not the most interesting walk! We used to camp there as teenagers and swim from the dammed end...good times!

I'm just after a nice stroll and some nice views for an afternoon stroll away from the roads and busy paths.

If not this walk, can you recommend any others in the Patterdale and Glenridding area?

In reply to An Triubhas: It's a pleasant trip down to hightown on the ferry with some nice places to stroll or down to Pooley Bridge and walk upo owards watermilock. The path towards Helvelyn from patterdale and up towards the woods is worth a trip!
In reply to An Triubhas:
Pasture bottom which is in Hartsop is great....

For a short walk, Aira Force.
A bit longer, over Place fell to Howtown and then back up the shore cutting over the hause between Silver Crag and Birk Fell (boredale hause ?) it can be halved with ferries for the infirm, but IMHO is one of the best lakeland walks.

angle tarn, lanty's tarn or the shoreline walk to or from howtown as mentioned above are all nice easyish walks. the walk up to grisedale tarn is good but its a few mile up the valley.
