Half price entry for all climbers. Experienced climbers can use the bouldering walls and roped climbing walls for half the normal entry fee throughout the day! If you're not already a member of Beacon Climbing Centre, check out our registration guidelines here. Spectator entry is free!
FREE CrazyClimb® Sessions. Offering fun, and completely wacky climbing challenges, CrazyClimb® is the latest indoor climbing activity for kids and adults! We'll be running free 20 minute sessions starting every half hour from 11am-6pm. Not heard about CrazyClimb®? Check it out on the Beacon website here!
Try Climbing for FREE. Never climbed before? Have a go for free during our Open Day and experience the exhilarating challenge of indoor climbing! These sessions are suitable for all ages from 5+ and all participants will have the opportunity to attempt 2 climbs.
Bouldering Competition. Open to all ages and running from 10am until 6pm, you'll have 3 hours from collecting your score card to tick as many of the 40 problems as you can, with more points awarded for the more difficult climbs. The Beacon Winter Bouldering Aggregate will also begin with these 40 problems so you can pick up you scorecard for £2.00 during our Open Day and get started early!
Speed Climbing Competition. Try and beat the time set by DMM Pro Team climber Pete Robins! Pete will set the target time at 12 noon and we'll be offering a cash price for the person that gets the closest time, with a bonus for anyone beating the time! Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team (LLMRT) will be operating the competition and the £2 entry fee will go directly to the Rescue Team. You can also take part in the LLMRT raffle and win some great prizes!
DMM Stand and Test Rig. Check out all the latest climbing equipment from World renown Llanberis based climbing equipment manufacturer DMM. Pick up free stuff and watch DMM equipment get tested to oblivion on their test rig. Very cool!
FREE Masterclasses Sessions. If you're looking to improve your climbing ability and knowledge, why not join one of our free Masterclass sessions with a DMM Pro Team climber? These 30 minute sessions will be running throughout the day and will give you the opportunity to pick up some expert guidance and advice.
V12 Outdoor MEGA Sale. Looking from some new outdoor clothing or climbing equipment? The V12 Outdoor store located within Beacon Climbing Centre will be holding a one day mega sale with some amazing bargains up for grabs!
Film Lounge. Get inspired for climbing by checking out our awesome selection of classic Al Hughes climbing movies including Upside Down Wales, Stone Monkey and The Meltdown, playing on loop in Caffi Barcud (located upstairs in Beacon Climbing Centre) throughout the day.
Andy Kirkpatrick lecture. If you want to die laughing, don't miss Andy Kirkpatrick's new lecture: 'Higher Education - lessons learnt from high places" describing climbing El Cap with his 13 year old daughter. Quite simply the hottest ticket on the UK's climbing and mountaineering lecture scene, Andy's absorbing, irreverent and incredibly funny lectures are guaranteed to captivate the audience, providing silence at the scary bits and tear inducing laughter at the funny bits! After hours Party. Starting immediately after Andy Kirkpatrick's lecture, DJ Tom Booth will be kicking off our party with some awesome tunes. Entry is free, so if you can't make it during the day, join us for the party!
