In reply to Joe123: Bit of a broad question with limited data to go on, tbh. What are you wanting to do? Way hard super alpinism or snow plods with an occasional VF or clip up?
FWIW it's always good having a car, and between two a reasonable car will (I think) usually work out cheaper than any public transport.
