Looking to go for a week of alpine rock (up to E2), preferably multi pitch, in europe, in July 2013. Granite crags and not too hot preferred. Any suggestions anyone?
Val di Mello or possibly Handegg/Grimsel. Kundalini and Luna Nascente at the former, Fair Hands Line, and loads of brilliant slab climbing at the latter.
Lots of multi-pitch granite in the Ecrins in France. Likely to be significant accents of snow remaining in July, which gives more variety to the adventure (and opportunities to haul more gear).
Last June I did two or three alpine granite multi-pitch routes on the northwest side of the Ecrins (roughly around La Berarde)on peaks over 3000 meters -- eager to go back. Famous climbing peaks are the Aiguille Dibona (also other stuff around Refuge Soreiller) and the Meije.
There's also lower multi-pitch granite closer to the road (e.g. Tete de la Maye).
I hear there's also lots of granite on the east + northeast side of the Ecrins - around Ailefroide.
