just thought I'd stick this up to see how many views. It's that time of year again. Quarks v Vipers does it matter?

Yes it does but its very personal
I love my Vipers but my partner hates them and swears by her quarks
Like climbing shoes try before you buy!!

In reply to The Big Man:

Are you kidding? The difference is HUGE!

I own a pair of Quarks and I do not own a pair of Vipers.

With the Quarks I am able to climb a variety of winter routes - mixed and ice.

Without the Vipers I am able to do little more than a snowy walk.

Can't you grasp that???

In reply to The Big Man: excellent response so far. I agree with previous replies so far. Q v V does my head in!

In reply to The Big Man: It depends on whether you're in a collider, or a desert. For ice climbing it definitely doesn't matter. Unless you are the sort that worries about what rubber you use when you climb very modest grades.

In reply to Rampikino:

It's a non-question. The way to go is one of each. If one's better you'll start drifting sideways, but then you can just swap hands. Simples.

In reply to The Big Man: i own neither. But happy with responses so far.

In reply to The Big Man: I had the same queires this time last year and even included some Reactors into the mix, My general consensus was that it's try before you buy and it's all in the arms and feet anyway, you could use a claw hammer if your tekkers is off the chart.
