Just to let you know we've snow on the tops

In reply to Maurice52: Was planning a trip to Shepards Crag on Saturday. Might leave the rack and take crampons and ice axe westwards instead!

Think we shall go local this weekend though, and save some diesel ready for the big freeze! :p

In reply to LakesWinter: Its not very cold in Ambleside, there is snow but I would doubt that the turf will be freezing as it just doesn't feel cold enough - I think it is "Just" cold enough to snow, but not to properly freeze things up for climbing, I'll be going for a tentative look on Sunday - probably cambridge crag and can report back what I find up there (if it stays cold!)

Just a light dusting above Pillar Rock on Pillar and above Carlside on Skiddaw. Looks to be a bit on the Helvelyn range as well. Very pretty in the last of the light when I was out fir a run.
