Sad, sad, sad. A real memento mori.

Curious, watching Verdon Forever again - the young lady with the breasts plays much more of a cameo role than I had remembered.

I don't suppose anyone can identify the routes and people, can they? I recognise PE and PB and that long traverse on the Imbut whose name I forget, and of course the barefoot solo is Debiloff, but that's about it. Is that Pichenibule the chap's falling off, for example?

His self-interview is brilliant - a stunning exposition of why climbing can be so terribly important to some of us. And his deep regard for Patrick Berhault - 'like a brother I never had'.

Though he seemed troubled. I hope his spirit is at peace now.
