Hi,
Im heading out to Tafraoute in Jan and Ive checked out hotels on trip adviser(most have mixed reports)Can anyone recommend me a hotel that they have stayed in.

we stayed in 2 hotels in Tafroute

Hotel les amandiers - was about 350DH a night for a twin room if you book though http://climb-tafraoute.webs.com/hotellesamandiers.htm
It was meant to be 4*... but not by uk standards.. the lights didnt work in our room and it was very old fashioned (not we cared). Had good warm showers on suite and free wifi... also has a pool.. but we where to busy climbing to use it. staff spoke good english.

hotel Auberge les amis - was 100DH for a double room with a shared bathroom. or 150DH for a twin room en suite. always had warm showers and a good nights sleep. you can get free wifi on the ground floor. Make sure you take toilet paper with you...(the shared toilets didnt have any). owner spoke very good english.

hotel kasbah - not in tafroute but nearer to the climbing. cost 250DH per person with breakfast and evening meal included, the food was great, but you get what you are given(no menu). showers where always cold, the bathrooms where shared and no wifi. Really friendly owners who speak a bit of english.

all had good and bad points. We liked the hotel Auberge best in tafroute because it was a lot cheaper but still nice.

In reply to silo: I'd go for Les Amandiers; there are cheaper options but the Amandiers is extremly comfortable and convenient, and frankly it's all sufficiently cheap that it's not worth making the savings, IMO!

In reply to silo: It was too long ago to remember the actual cost, but we managed to barter for two rooms and the roof for 8 of us. We did this in both trafroute and todra gorge. It was a great trip.
