Heading up to sheffield this weekend, wondering what the warmest crag near to sheffield is. Stanage seems to get the sun quite a lot but are there any other options?

Cheers

In reply to climb the peak:

If you like being warm, avoid Stange at this time of year unless there is not a breath of wind. Stanage is more wind trap than sun trap otherwise.

Rivelin is a good option, being low lying, South facing and sheltered - and also very near Sheffield.

Froggatt is also a good option, being low-lying, sheltered (in places) and having some nice bays that face the late morning/ afternoon sun.

Rivelin or, if its cold but sunny, Beeston Tor

In reply to climb the peak: I'd just like to put a word in here in favour of Agden Rocher, not an obvious choice but sunny and sheltered in spite of its beautiful outlook.

Lawrencefield can be ok.
In reply to climb the peak: thanks for the advice
