In reply to JMGLondon: plenty of stuff around, either head out of one side of the village and up towards combs / castle naze and just keep going toward Errwood and the cat and fiddle or the other side towards south head and again the further you go the better it gets.
It's a cliche but get a map and you really can't go wrong, nearly all the paths, bridleways are good once you are clear of any muddy fields
