He was comparing using a human snowhole to get out of the weather to what ptarmigans do to get out of the winter weather.

i remember a film crew and copter on Cairn Toul back in 2011..

In reply to subalpine: they were filming this while i was snow holeing on my winter ml course last week. They were filming in the coire out back of ptarmigan restrauant. The snow hole was an old one they had found...and the roof had collapsed. They asked our instructor if it was safe and he said no. They would have been ok if they dug there own snowhole as we stayed out but we did dig our own snowhole. His first take was saying artic conditions on cairngorm....but watching it, it got changed.
