Any reports from, Lochnagar, Dubh Loch, Shelterstone areas.

With not much Winter experience in those areas, apart from the Shelterstone I would appreciate any feedback. My other options are Beinn Eighe,and other north west coast areas.

It snowed a lot on Sunday in the East but for the ice routes (Vertigo Wall) more thaw/freeze is needed. Turfy and mixed routes should be good although some will be buried...

In reply to pete123: So you are considering east, west and north west. Well that pretty much covers it!

Seriously though, I was on Lochnagar on Sunday and it was pretty wintry. Snowing throughtout the day. Turf was excellent on the Cathedral area. Have a look at the UKc logbook to see what was climbed at the weekend. I can't imagine there will be much to go at in Dubh Loch just yet.

In reply to jameshiggins: Yea, I was planning on traveling up near applecross then over to Lochnagar area. The more info I can gt the better I gues! I've checked all blogs ex, so thanks again for all your feedback.
