Hello,

Could anyone recommend a nice cottage for two in the Lake District? We'd be looking to spend a week there for our honeymoon.

Suggestions on the best places to visit/walk would also be welcome

Many thanks

Andrew

Bump.

Somewhere with a wood burner would be a bonus.

Good accommodation search here:

Places we've stayed as a couple and would recommend:

http://www.hartsopmill.co.uk - nice out of the way cottage nr patterdale/glenridding, drive to Keswick or over kirkstone pass to ambleside if you want town amenities, well placed for excellent walks up to high street, fairfield and hellvelyn

Next two good if you want to stay in town for access to town shops/restaurants etc

I haven't stayed In the cottage but I have used other options at High Wallabarrow farm in the beautiful Duddon valley. Checkout their website for details. They do say contact may be easier by phone rather than mail. Easy walk to a good pub in the tiny village and quiet walking and great climbing if you need distractions!!

Has anyone used this company before?

Yes. I've stayed at one of their properties and thought it was a pretty good cottage, if Ambleside's your bag (staggering distance from the Golden Rule):

We had a couple of things needed sorting out in the cottage and Heart of the Lakes sent a bloke round to fix it on the same day.
