Thinking about 3 weeks in Squamish in the Summer.

Can anyone recommend any affordable accommodation (not camping).

A cabin for 4 would be ideal or would consider a cheap hostel.

Thanks....

Stayed in the inn on the water ( http://www.innonthewater.com/ ) a couple of years ago which was fine. We (4 of us) had a room to ourselves (arranged over the phone without any hassle).

We stayed here - http://www.hotel-squamish.com/photos.shtml

Basic but fine. Liquor Store underneath and a fridge in the room worked out nicely for us!

In reply to Sl@te Head: You could contact Toby Foord kelcey on here, author of the UAE Rock Climbing Guidebook, he has spent many summers in Squamish and moved over there to live full time. I'm sure he could make a recommendation.

Phoned them today..fully booked until December 2013!

So any more suggestions would be appreciated as I've already booked flights....

There's a motel in downtown Squamish, forget what It's called might just be Squamish motel, there's the Howe Sound Inn and Brew Pub although I don't know how much a room is but could quite easily find out for as I know a lot of people in Squamish. It's also the place most climbers will go to after a day out for a beer cos they make their own and it's awesome and their patio has a great view of the grand wall ! There's the Sea to sky hotel in Garbaldi it's a 30mon cycle or a 10min drive from downtown and the main climbing. Where are you planning on doing youre climbing? If its on the chief or in the grand wall forest you will still need to walk or cycle or drive out of downtown and 5-10mins down the highway. There also may be a motel or youth hostel in Valleycliffe.

Hope this helps.

Howe Sound Inn gets filled up pretty quickly. The beer and food are excellent, as is the atmosphere. -- My wife and I have already booked our 3 nights there in July so I can catch up with old friends and do a few touristy things. My days of being able to to anything but gaze longingly at the Chief are long gone. I had to make sure I avoided the Squamish Mountain Festival dates, and the Squamish Days (Lumberjack festival) when everywhere is booked solid by now. Weekends in July / August are particularly busy. Good luck.
