A little over a year ago this thread: http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=484021&v=1#x6651383 was started in response to this epic YouTube video: youtube.com/watch?v=1ovr55k6evE& about an avalanche and self rescue in Wyoming. If you've not seen the video already, it's well worth a watch.

Ed who shot the video sustained a number of injuries but with help from his climbing partner, made it back to the road and an ambulance.

Ed has recovered enough to go back to the same crag and start climbing again: youtube.com/watch?v=WxBLhAAyiWM& . Well done to him, I'm sure his recovery wasn't easy.

In reply to Jon Wickham: I didnt realise there was mixed climbing on Med Bow, i thought it was to cold and dry out there to form ice and neve. Kind of wish i sought it out when i wss out there now. what is the typical mixed season up there? i assume for much of the winter it is innacessible with all the snow?

Also is there no mountain rescue in the area? that was an amazing effort getting out unaided.
