Apparently a Polish team has summited Broad Peak making it the 1st winter ascent.

awesome, truely good stuff.

i was messing about on BP a few years back in summer of course, and recall digging out lengths of 5mm fixed line lower down that took half the season to expose and were still under 2m of snow in most places.
made me contemplate the sheer mentality of guys being out there in winter.
same season denis ubroko was out there caching their stuff for the following winter - just seeing their rack of mattocks for smashing ice to melt water put it into perspective.

wild stuff.

2 Polish climbers Kowalski and Berbeka still missing. The most recent development: Bielecki and Maleka have been ordered to start descending from C4.

Let's hope for a positive conclusion to this dramatic situation.

Yes sadly those on the mountain are heading down with the 2 still listed as 'missing' - a big storm is heading in tonight as well.

A sad out come to an incredible achievement.
