What's it doing where you are?

If this is what it's like at sea level, what must it be like on Cairn Gorm?!

And it's forecast to carry on ALL WEEK. Big up for the skiers

In reply to Tim Chappell:

Snowing like crazy (southern Alps) and has been for 24 hours.

A few power cuts this morning as the weight of the snow stretched the power lines, but hasn't been too bad.

On Saturday it felt like Spring, as most of the valley-level snow had melted and it was lovely in the afternoon sun.

Still snowing... and when I say "still" I mean it hasn't stopped, or barely, since my OP...

Does that mean the Constitution St. piste is nick then? I've only ever sledged it once.

In reply to bluebealach:

Aha! That's a REALLY useful link. Thank you!

The bit just outside Braemar on that picture doesn't look any different from here in Dundee really, but I expect it's pretty nuts up at the top of the road.

In reply to SFM:

West Park Road would be in grand fettle, it would be perfect fluffy powder going at about Red, except the buggers keep driving up and down it

In reply to dek:

Within five minutes the wheels will be off the Broadcast Support vans. Within ten they'll have nicked all the skis. Within fifteen they'll have nicked all the skiers as well...

You'll never guess what the weather's doing now!

But here's a clue: it begins with "sn" and ends with "owing"

Agreed Tim. My son also started an 8-month stint at RAF Leucars today - nice introduction to a Scottish winter

now if only there could be an aftershock that reduced dens park to a pile of rubble, that would just make my day!
Tim Chappell 19 Mar 2013
In reply to mac fae stirling:

Isn't it a pile of rubble already?

Raining here in the deep south (Firth of Forth).
Tim Chappell 19 Mar 2013
In reply to Fat Bumbly2:

Yes, our snow is turning pretty wet. I can see my car roof again, for the first time in 48 hours. Basically, it's vile out there. Oh the joys of working at home

In reply to mac fae stirling: Better than that sticklebrick across the road.
