Does anyone know anything about plastic protection, or have any thoughts on the matter?

I've seen (although not placed) a large plastic hex, and was wondering if this was a one-off piece/ display item/ joke/ or one a production item...>?

I think tough plastic nuts have been trialled. The problem was that if weighted at all, they REALLY "bed in" and are very very hard to extract, and also tend to remain deformed

Ah. Cheers. I thought I'd read about them previously. Clearly I didn't do a very good search.

The piece I've seen however was a large hex which, with its larger angle, and generally being bigger than nuts, would seem to negate the issues raised on the other thread about both biting too much, and slipping out too easily.
