Looking at that link they mention Krakauer's book, so I guess its based on that. I admit its the book I read first and found it gripping... but was very glad to then follow it by reading Boukreev's book, its not as gripping, not so Hollywood but gives a different picture. It balances the story of events out.
I'd still go and see the film whichever book its based on.
I think he needs to get his head down and concentrate on playing well for Spurs myself.

In reply to Mark Collins: Yes, Boukreev's version puts a "non Journalistic" view of the event. Especially as , Krakauer's by his won admission , was asleep (AND SAFE) in his own tent when the Boukreev was out saving lives.
