Advice needed- I have recently purchased a whole range of hiking socks mainly consisting of merino or smartwool, but whilst out walking/hiking my lower leg and ankle always seem to have a rash on them.
Can one be allergic to wool? I have a merino top which never causes me any problems.
It cant be my washing detergent as I use it with everything else and I never had these problems when hiking in the UK and Europe, but ever since I have been living in Canada. Maybe its the sock manufacturer's??
In reply to dorangus: are they Icebreaker socks? If so, I have these and find them particularly tight around the ankles and I don't exactly have cankles; quite the opposite, whatever the adjective for that might be!
