Hi all

Am changing my shell jacket for Paramo (new Helki - actually has a more 'normal' cut) which means I can probably ditch my Haglofs Barrier Zobe Hoody.

With this in mind, I'm thinking about a beefier belay jacket. Previously had a DAS (found quite bulky, but now thinking that is worth it if it's the only thing I'll be carrying), and an ME Fitzroy (sold due to impending new arrival).

Over to you all - any pros / cons? Any stand out over any other?

I've read a lot about Paramo having a very boxy fit, the Torres especially.

If you can find one to try one, throw the Montane Alpine Guide in there as well - much prefer it to previous heavyweight belay jackets I've tried, largely because of the waist cinch, which allows you to close off your core and keep the insulation snug.

How does Montane insulation size up? I've found with othee items from Montane I've had to go a size up?

I find it a slightly snugger fit for the size - At various points I've had a Fitzroy and Generator which both felt baggy in L, whereas the L Alpine Guide in particular is quite a neat fit. Really well featured jacket if it fits.
